What Is Eucharistic Adoration?
Catholics believe Jesus Christ is truly present (body, blood, soul, and divinity) in the Holy Eucharist. At Adoration, the consecrated Host is placed in a monstrance on the altar so we can pray in his real presence. It’s not a symbol. It’s Jesus, personally here, waiting for us.
To adore is simply to spend time with him — with a rosary, with Scripture, with the burdens on your heart, or in silence. As a humble farmer told St. John Vianney, “I look at him, and he looks at me.”
Why Do It?
- Peace — an hour of rest for a weary soul (Mt 11:28).
- A deeper prayer life and a real friendship with the Lord.
- Clarity and healing — people bring their worries here and leave lighter.
- Pray for others — Intercede and pray for your family, our parish, and the world.
We are working toward perpetual (24/7) Adoration at St. Benedict — Christ adored every hour of every day, our lamp always lit. Stop in to pray anytime, or give the Lord one hour a week as a committed adorer and help us keep the watch.
