Church of St. Benedict Religious Education ProgramThe philosophy of the Church of St. Benedict Religious Education Program is in accordance with the decree of Vatican II, acknowledging that parents are the primary educators of their children. Therefore, it is the role of the St. Benedict Religious Education Program to support parents in the religious formation of their children by enhancing their teaching of Scripture, doctrine, morals, and attitudes and by providing basic teaching of the Catholic religion, opportunities for service activities and the experience of Catholic Christian community. Our Program is based on love of God, love of neighbor, and respect for individual uniqueness. Religious Education class sessions are offered on a first come, first serve basis during three different sessions; two on Sunday, morning and evening; and one on Wednesday evening. The Children's Catechumenate program is offered for older children seeking full communion with the Catholic Church. The Catechists and Assistants are Covered Volunteers of the Diocese of Tulsa. Some of the extra activities offered during the year to participate in are Advent Family Packets, Christmas plays, Lenten Family Packets and Parish Lenten Event, as well as two summer programs, Totus Tuus and Vacation Bible School. We also encourage students involvement with our Stewardship collections through different collections and classroom Rosary Boxes sent home for family prayer. For more information on how you can be involved, please contact Carol Bryan in the parish office.
