Celebrate Easter Week
The Final week of Lent begins with Friday April 7th and our Lenten Series final Friday featuring Bishop David Konderla who will be there for a Q&A. Join us for a Lenten meal and an opportunity to visit with the Bishop.
Palm Sunday is on April 9th with normal Mass hours. You can also experience the Tenebrae Service at Holy Family Cathedral at 7:30 PM. For those who have not experienced it is a very old and moving ritual basically called a mourning ritual in which everyone leaves in darkness and silence.
Also at the Cathedral on Tuesday April 11th at 5:30PM there is the chrism mass in which all the anointing oils used in the church are prepared and blessed.
Thursday April 13th is Holy Thursday at 7PM. On Holy Thursday we celebrate with the washing of feet.
Friday April 14th is Good Friday with a Mass at 7PM. The cross is uncovered and we have a veneration of the cross.
Saturday April 15th at 8PM Is the Easter Vigil. The mass starts in darkness then lit by candlelight. the anointing oils that were blessed during the chrism mass are brought into the church and presented to the celebrant. Later in the mass new Catholics are baptized and welcomed to the church.
Easter Sunday we celebrate the Risen Lord. Masses are at 7AM 9AM and Noon. There is no 5 PM mass on Easter Sunday.
Men's ACTS Retreat : March 23-26, 2017
Women's ACTS Retreat : April 27-30, 2017
As the pastors of St. Benedict, we personally invite each member of the parish to prayerful consider an ACTS retreat. ACTS is an acronym meaning A for Adoration, C for Community, T for Theology and S for Service.
Why do we want you to attend? To grow deeper in your faith and experience the love of Jesus Christ with the fellowship of St. Benedict parishioners. We know your time is valuable but your relationship with God is invaluable. Just say yes, you won't regret it! PAX
Visit the ACTS page to learn more about it or to download the registration forms and brochures.
